Gluing Solutions
Overview
AB two-component gluing machine is a kind of machine specially used for two-component catalytic glue, mixing the glue and catalyst for curing. The gluing system has two barrels, barrel A for glue and barrel B for catalyst, the two kinds of materials will be pumped to the mixing tube through pump for mixing. The common two-component catalytic glue are AB epoxy resin, AB polyurethane, AB silicone, PU glue etc.
There are two kinds of pump commonly used at present: gear pump and screw pump.
Gear pump is suitable for glue without filler (filler is used to enhance the thermal conductivity of the glue, such as alumina, quartz sand, ceramics and other particle with strong hardness). Gear pump is easy to wear if used for glue with filler, and then affect the accurate control of glue volume and curing time, increase the proportion of defective products. Compared with gear pump, screw pump has higher wear resistance, suitable for glue with filler. The common mixing ratio of two-component glue is between 10:10 and 10:1, and other special mixing ratios need to be customized.
Gluing Process
Cleaning: Thoroughly clean the workpiece need gluing, remove dirt, corrosive substances, keep the surface of workpiece dry and clean.
Pre-heating: Appropriate pre-heating process is helpful for better curing.
Mixing: It has two kinds of mixing methods, dynamic mixing and static mixing. According to the process requirements, prepare two kinds of material in required proportion. During dynamic mixing, the stirring mechanism is used to stir in one direction to minimize the intake of air, and attention should be paid to fully stir the materials at the bottom and edge of the container, otherwise the curing will be incomplete. For static mixing, two kinds of material will be pumped into static mixing tube by pump.
De-bubbling: After mixing, defoaming process is necessary by a vacuum device. If small bubble, it will eliminate itself.
Attentions
Temperature has a great influence on the operation time and curing time of gluing process, and should be controlled above 25℃. In addition, attention should be paid to the water mist cannot directly fall on the surface of glue.
The glue has a certain viscosity range, and different metering pumps have different requirements on the viscosity of the mixture. If it exceeds the allowable value range of the metering pump, the accuracy of pump will decrease, even unable to work normally.
When changing different glues, it is necessary to clean the containers, pipes and pumps. Otherwise, there may be a chemical reaction between different glues, resulting in bubbles.
The glue should be mixed slowly along the wall of the container, and the mixing speed should not be too fast.
