Customized Teflon Belt Solutions
Teflon belt is one kind of fiberglass mesh belt with two ends connected. The connection of two ends is often completed by sewing and adhesive tape film.
In the photovoltaic module manufacturing industry, Teflon belt is mainly used in solar cell stringer machine and laminator machine, conveying materials in high temperature environment.
Among them, the Teflon belt used to convey solar cell will be punched according to different solar cell type, and the holes have round, long-strip and oval shapes.
In the daily use of Teflon belt, there will be problems such as slipping, off-tracking and joint cracking, etc. The following is a summary of the relevant problems.
1. Causes and solutions of Teflon belt slipping
a) The speed of Teflon belt is less than 95% of the roller speed;
b) The roller starts under load;
c) The rubber coating of roller is seriously worn, or the surface of Teflon belt is too wet or has lubricating oil stuck to it;
d) The spacing of roller is shorter than standard, or the Teflon belt is too long.
The solutions to above problems are as follows: clean roller surface, dry and clean the Teflon belt, adjust roller spacing, and adjust the length of Teflon belt.
2. Teflon belt off-tracking treatment methods
Check the misalignment of horizontal center line of roller and vertical center line of the Teflon belt. If the misalignment exceeds 3mm, need to adjust the mounting holes to appropriate position.
Check the plane deviation of the mounting bearing seat of end frame, make sure the plane deviation is not more than 1mm.
3. Teflon belt joint cracking problem
Overlap joint is a common connection method for Teflon belt. Details as follows:
a) Lay the Teflon belt on dryer, align and leave about 6cm length of both ends for overlap;
b) Put a layer of high temperature glue (transparent F46 film) on the joints and overlapping parts. Insulation material underneath is recommended to use to prevent heat dissipation too fast;
c) Use a high temperature iron, heating to about 400 degrees, slowly and repeatedly ironing the joints and overlapping parts of the belt.
At the same time, apply appropriate pressure, until the glue film become a molten state. Ironing temperature should not be too high to prevent damage to the Teflon belt.
Note: The hot-pressing time can be extended appropriately for better connection.
During the operation of the cell stringer machine, if the temperature of the soldering module is too high, or the spacing between rollers is abnormal, the tension of Teflon belt is too high, which may lead to cracking of the joints.
